Clean out your closets and earn extra spending money at the 12th Annual Community Garage Sale, set for Saturday, Aug. 3. Send your registration in by July 20, along with a check for $10, to list your sale on maps distributed one week in advance of the sale.
The annual garage sale is sponsored by the Cottage Grove Lioness Club. “The garage sale funds a variety of community projects,” states event organizer Shirley Peper. “It supports Santa’s Visit held in conjunction with the December holiday festival, the Senior Citizen Corn Party, high school scholarships, holiday baskets, and youth soccer and T-ball activities.”
“Participating in the garage sale is a good way to show community spirit and to meet your neighbors,” says Peper. Those who pay the nominal fee of $10 by July 20 will benefit from free advertising in local newspapers.
The Lioness Club will sell refreshments the day of the sale in the Cenex parking lot on the corner of Highways BB and N. Maps are available one week in advance of the sale at Cenex and the Wisconsin Community Bank.
To participate in the event, make a check payable to Cottage Grove Lioness Club, and send it to Cottage Grove Lioness Club, 2677 Bluebird Lane, Cottage Grove, WI 53527. Send along the blue form distributed by the Boy Scouts or include an enclosure listing your name, subdivision, address, phone, and items of interest to be sold. Questions? Call 839-4925 or 222-7213.
