Holiday Festival Schedule of events 2002 – December 7th
The 10th annual community celebration for the community.
The Craft fair begins one hour before the other events.
The craft fair will run from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. with over 40 vendors in the gym at Cottage Grove Elementary School. All vendors create their own crafts.
All other events run from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Santa arrives at 10 a.m. by Fire truck and will leave at 3 p.m. Mrs. Claus will be with him this year. The Lioness will be taking pictures of the children visiting with Santa and giving out lil goody bags from Santa as well.
Elf Shelf – this is a room where children can shop for gifts for the holidays for all members of their family. New this year is a build your own gift section. These gifts will be wrapped and labeled at no charge by the elves.
The Brownies will be hosting the cookie table in the cafeteria. Hot cider and coffee will also be available.
The Older Girl scouts have created a craft room where children can make their own holiday decorations or gifts
In the hallways you will find the Friends of the EMS having a bake sale with lots of goodies. Also, in the halls you will find the Historical Society with lots of photos of how Cottage Grove has changed over the years and the History of the area.
The Lioness will have a table of home décor items for sale.
Girl Scouts will also be in the hall selling craft items they have made.
Girl scouts will have a table in the hall with popcorn, nachos and cotton candy – another new item this year.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary an ‘Avalanche” ice cream bar. This is ice cream with a selection of candies blended in or you can also get a scoop of ice cream with toppings. The ice cream is from Chocolate Shoppe. This will be available in the cafeteria.
4-H will again be taking your orders for lunch this year (the menu includes BBQ’s, turkey sandwiches, chili, hot dogs, chili, milk, pop & chips)
Theresa Wohler’s will be selling cookbooks for her church.
Coat check will be in the IMC (library) this year, hosted by the cub scouts
Fire truck rides provided by our local firefighter’s.
The PTO will have a silent auction to raise money for the Taylor Prairie Playground.
PTO scrip will also be available for sale ask Liz for more info. (One of the event organizers)
