This Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Cottage Grove Volunteer Fireman started training on the newly delivered 95 foot ladder truck. Each Firefighter went through one eight hour training session this weekend. The training covered maintenance and general machine operation.
Further training will continue in the near future to complete each Firefighters training on the new ladder truck.
The ladder truck will make rescuing people from multi-story buildings faster. It will also be safer for the Firefighters. The new truck will allow Firefighters to get water on fires burning thru the roofs of buildings, the platform at the end of the ladder will mean firefighters will not need to stand on the roof to fight this type of fire.
Look for the firetruck to be in service sometime in early spring once our Volunteer Firefighters are fully trained on the new ladder truck.
