The first meeting of the Task Force will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8 in the Village Hall located at 221 East Cottage Grove Road, Cottage Grove, WI. Members from the Monona Grove School District, the City of Monona, the Town of Cottage Grove and the Village of Cottage Grove will meet to begin formal discussions on several issues.
One of the items under discussion will be the amount of residential growth of all communities to balance student population in the future. While in the last few years student growth has been about four students per grade level, the Task Force will work to come up with the level of growth which will work to the best advantage for the Monona Grove School District Budget.
Since School District spending consists of several variable factors working to bring these factors into the best possible balance is one of the top priorities of the Task Force.
Village President Ken Dahl will welcome the Task Force and introduce the speakers for the evening. First, will be Village Planner Mike Slavney who will review the Village of Cottage Grove's Smart Growth Plan. This is the first Smart Growth Plan completed int he State of Wisconsin.
Second, a member of the Dane County Executive's Office will explain the County Executive's Attain Dane initiative.
Refreshments will be available before the meeting.
All in the community are welcome.
