Cottage Grove Community Library Open House Events Set for Oct. 1st and 5th, 2005
Local residents are encouraged to attend either of the Friends of the Cottage Grove Library's first-ever Open House events scheduled for:
Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to Noon &
Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.,
at Village Hall, 221 E. Cottage Grove Road.
During the Open House events, Lisa Selje, interim library director, will be introduced to the community. Library Board Trustees and committee members will be seeking input toward the development of the detailed Program Statement - a description of the different types of services and spaces to best serve the community -and are eager to receive ideas and feedback from area residents, civic organizations and businesses. What should the library include? What would you and your children like to see take place at the library? Community feedback is important as Library officials develop the initial drafts of possible designs for the library.
A preliminary site map showing the Library's future location, nest to the Middle School, will also be on display. When fund-raising efforts are successful, the Library should be up and running in 2018.
Meanwhile, the bookmobile will continue to operate on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Marketplace Shopping Center parking lot.
