School Board decides on referendum question

MONONA GROVE SCHOOL DISTRICT REFERENDUM – April 4, 2006

Question Number I

“Shall the following Initial Resolution be approved?

INITIAL RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $28,690,000

Be it resolved by the School Board of the Monona Grove School District, Dane County, Wisconsin, that there shall be issued pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $28,690,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of constructing a new grade level 5-8 facility including related site improvements (to include a grade 7-8 District-wide middle school) on land the District currently owns located on Highway BB in Cottage Grove; various renovation and site improvement projects at Winnequah Middle School and Maywood Elementary School in Monona and Cottage Grove Elementary School; and acquiring equipment, furnishings and fixtures.” Project Budget - New Middle School $25,628,956 Cottage Grove Elementary School – Without Addition 271,000 Maywood Elementary School 40,000 Winnequah Middle School 2,750,000 $28,689,956

Question Number II

TO EXCEED REVENUE LIMIT BY $432,992 FOR RECURRING PURPOSES

“Shall the following Resolution be approved? RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET Be it resolved by the School Board of the Monona Grove School District, Dane County, Wisconsin that the revenues included in the School District budget for the 2008-2009 school year and thereafter be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $432,992 a year, for recurring purposes consisting of operating costs associated with the proposed new grade level 5-8 school to be located in Cottage Grove.”
