Free Vehicle Winterization Inspections for Seniors.

Now is the time to get your vehicle prepared for winter. An important part of that preparation is TRIAD’s free pre-winter vehicle inspection.

Mike Smith, a licensed auto mechanic, will provide you with information about your car so you can get problems fixed before they cause an accident or breakdown. No repairs will be made on site.

However, Mike and his volunteers will check such things as tires, antifreeze and all belts for wear. They will also check and inflate your car’s spare tire.

The Cottage Grove Police Department and Dane County Sheriff’s Office will check safety items, including turn signals and brake lights. Officers and deputies do not ticket when they find problems; the goal of these inspections is to promote your safety.

The second annual Car Winterization Inspection is being hosted by the Cottage Grove Triad. It will be held at Mike’s Automotive Service, 222 West Cottage Grove Road, Saturday, October 20, starting at 8:00 a.m.

The inspection will take approximately 15 minutes.

Angelus Retirement Community of Cottage Grove will provide coffee and homemade refreshments. Members of TRIAD will have a “goody bag” for each senior who makes a reservation. RSVP of Dane County will hand out a File of Life to those who have not yet received one.

Local TRIAD organizations throughout Dane County conduct these inspections every fall. This TRIAD event is not limited to residents of Cottage Grove. Seniors from neighboring communities are encouraged to take advantage of this no cost, no obligation opportunity.
