Prune Oak Trees when they are Dormant
9/4/2011 - Ken Dahl, Cottage Grove Economic Development Corporation
To protect the valuable oak trees in our community they should only be pruned during their dormant season.

For oak trees the Oak Wilt beetle is dormant from the end of October to the end of March.

This is the only time of year in which to prune Oak Trees in Southern Wisconsin.

This not only protects the Oak Trees on your property but those in your neighborhood as well.
